Academic Hourly Administrator - Talent Search Site Coordinator
TSP Site Coordinator
The Michael L. Jeffries, Sr. Center for Access and Academic Success (Jeffries Center) provides leadership in developing, implementing, and delivering student support services to improve the retention, academic achievement, graduation, and success of undergraduates at Illinois, particularly, students who identify as first-generation, historically underrepresented, low income, and/or educationally disadvantaged. The Jeffries Center develops educational opportunities and enrichment activities to help facilitate the educational and personal growth of student participants through organized activities and collaborative efforts with Student Affairs departments, the colleges and academic departments, and other campus and community partners.
Primary Position Function/Summary
Under general supervision of the Director of TRIO Programs and their designee, this position is responsible for providing supplemental instruction, assisting with participating recruitment, selection, orientation, and retention of pre-college students within the TRIO Talent Search program.
Servicing Participants (75%)
1. Assist with recruiting new pre-college students into the TRIO Talent Search Program
2. Provide supplemental instruction for current Talent Search participants
3. Participate and assist in collaborative outreach programs with area schools and the TRIO TS program
4. Provide programming for TRIO Talent Search students at the school site
5. Submit regular documentation and reports, including services delivery data and outcomes, to the Director of TRIO Programs and/or designee
Retention assistance (20%)
1. Work with target school counselors to identify potential students and gather relevant data
2. Attend monthly Site Coordinator meetings
3. Serve as the part-time site contact and liaison with the TRIO Talent Search program
Other Duties (5%)
Assist with meeting the operational needs of the TRIO Talent Search program by performing other appropriate related duties
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree Experience: Minimum one year of experience working with or supporting pre-college programs, counseling pre-college students, or performing outreach initiatives aimed at improving middle or high school completion and pre-college readiness. Specialty Factors: Preferred Qualifications: Education: Experience teaching STEM Courses
Appointment Information
This is an Academic Hourly Position. Proposed start date is as soon as possible. The hourly rate of pay for this position is $25.
